Tulsa Life Flight has put the first of two new EC145 helicopters in service and it is in the air and completing patient transports. The second new aircraft will arrive in Tulsa very soon. There are many exciting new things coming with the new aircraft at Tulsa Life Flight.

Tulsa Life Flight chose the single-pilot IFR certified EC145 for its excellent performance, fast cruise speed, twin-engines and its large cabin capable of transporting two patients. Other safety features of the new EC145’s are night vision goggles, wire strike protection, satellite tracking, and full color radar. With the rear loading doors, the EC 145 offers excellent cabin access from all sides as well as exceptional visibility for the Life Flight pilots, enhancing their ability to conduct safe and effective missions. The crews at Tulsa Life Flight are very excited to provide these new state-of-the art aircraft to the citizens of eastern Oklahoma.

Stay tuned for more news on these exciting improvements in our service to you!

Ride Along Program Notice

Due to the arrival of our new aircraft and the extensive amount of training and orientation that the transition to the new aircraft will require, we have had to suspend our Ride Along Program for the remainder of this season.

We hope to be able to return to the Ride Along Program next fall. Thank you to all of you that did participate this year. We hope that you enjoyed your day with us and we enjoyed having you visit.

TLF has safely completed over 40,000 patient transports

On November 11th, 2007, Tulsa Life Flight safely completed it's 41,000th accident free patient transport. This is a milestone accomplished by only a handful of EMS flight services in the United States. The TLF crew that completed the 41,000th flight included David, Linda, Gail and Matt.

Congratulations to all Tulsa Life Flight crewmembers, past and present, for accomplishing this remarkable milestone and for setting a terrific example of safety and great decision making in the air medical industry!

When you need a helicopter ambulance service, you expect a well experienced team of highly skilled professional pilots, nurses and paramedics. Tulsa Life Flight has all these and serves communities within a 150-mile radius of Tulsa. With Tulsa Life Flight, you get the professional care and service you have come to expect since 1979.

Tulsa Life Flight provides helicopter and ground mobile intensive care transport of patients primarily to Saint Francis Hospital and St. John Medical Center in Tulsa. However, we have the capability to transport patients to other appropriate level facilities at patient and/or physician request. We operate two helicopters and we have one mobile intensive care unit available during inclement weather or aircraft downtime. All units are staffed by a registered nurse and a nationally-registered paramedic.

Tulsa Life Flight Mechanic Jack (left) and Tulsa Life Flight Pilot Andy (right) recently began their tour of duty to Iraq. We salute them for their dedication towards serving our country and the sacrifices they must make in doing so. They will be missed by all during their absence from Life Flight.

Be safe guys! - We all miss you!
